Dear God

Creator of everything
    we see
and everything
    we don't see.
We're only here
    today
because you're here
    every day.
    
What we have
    are those things
You have
    decided to give.
Nothing more
    is what we need,
nothing less
    is what You provide.
    
We recognize
    the supreme sacrifice
    of Jesus on the cross.
Daily we see
    how He intercedes
    in our lives,
offering protection and guidance
    whenever we ask
    and many times when we don't.
    
On this day we celebrate
    the Risen Christ,
    Your Son, Jesus.
    
He did as You commanded
    and reopened the door
    to eternal life for us all.
We only have to walk
    through it in faith.
    
His mission is ongoing,
    and He will return
        to gather us who believe,
    then He will judge
        those who are left behind.
        
For after here is a forever life,
    one that knows
    no sorrows, no tears, no pains,
    but only Love, Joy and Peace.
    
We graciously wait
    during this Age of Grace,
    longing to see those
    who have gone on before us.
    
It's knowing we will see You,  see Jesus,
    along with so many we've missed
        for so long,
    that gives us the will
        to continue
        for as long as it takes.
